Today, I wore black linen pants, a Lily Silk offwhite tshirt and a cream coloured "lady sweater" with a thin black horizontal stripe to the grocery store. Matching cream ballet flats and crossbody purse completed the outfit. I find that dressing well prompts more respect from others in public.

You look wonderful and so chic. Great suggestions. I don’t think women wear leggings properly. I like the suggestion of wearing them strictly as an undergarment which is warmer and easier than pantyhose. I think part of the difficulty is finding nice clothes in good fabrics. Also, the prices are outrageous. I used to buy a certain brand and this past year, just about every item is $20 more.

Bright colors and unique patterns make your luggage easy to spot on the carousel. I would take those gaudy flowers in a heartbeat. My classic black bag looks like every other bag on the line and I have to keep ribbons and colorful tags attached just to find it.

I really enjoyed your video for plus size ladies. I love nice clothes, bags and accessories. Unfortunately, my feet are a problem and I struggle to get nice shoes. I find that many shops including those on line, that "cater" for plus size, sell clothing that look like tents. It can be very difficult to get nice tailored clothing. I'm also over 60 and I really enjoy all your videos. They help to stop me "letting myself go".

I have 2 blazers and I hardly ever wear themOK now I know why. I go months without wearing them. I am a blazer gal and I love them. Denim jackets make me look frumpy. Thank you for helping me see that.

QUESTION Dearest Marie-Anne! I am wondering if you have any thoughts about the viability of camouflage as a style component. I personally think of it as 'ok' on Barbie and Ken but very few other places. I am tired of certain fashion lines trying to make a go of it and I am wondering if you feel the same.

It's all about proportions. Black all over isn't always the answer either. Fit is everything. I love tailored clothing of good quality. I have large calves, so i rarely wear tiny stilettos. I opt for block heels or wedges. I use medium or large bags, and I love an antique brooch or a long, thin silk scarf.

I literally just bought my white sneakers. 🙄 I will continue to wear them.

I agree that light color jeans are not stylish.

Really good tips. I’m plus size but used to be skinny before I turned 50. So feeling good about how I look isn’t easy. I think the last tip is the most important. I see so many women who don’t fix their hair and wear it in a greasy ponytail. Not a good look!

I’m 73 and I’ve been fighting weight since I was 12. I figure now that I’ve lost the battle, my best summer look is a pair of dark cotton pants, a tank top, some kind of loose topper, duster, kimono, whatever you want to call it, and a pair of matching flats. No one looks at a woman my age but I don’t want to embarrass my husband.

I would love a video that helps define “feminine” clothing. I tend to stick with very basic colors and some days feel I’m dressing in a more masculine style than I would like to. Can you please do a video that shows how to take a basic outfit from androgynous or almost masculine to feminine? I need help with that.

I love this video. You're inspiring Marie-Ann. So authentic and down-to-earth with a great mood. You remind me very much of my French friend who always lights up the room when he's around. For me, it's running, walking, yoga, pilates and homekeeping. I miss swimming but it's too cold where I live and even pool temperature is too cold for me to bother making the trip to water clubs.

Well, no matter what size, if you have a waist and big boobs, you can be easily dressed. If you are my shape: rectangle (no waist, no boobs) with a big tummy, you can spend fortunes on clothes, you'll look jus "OK"

What if you are short and fat with a tummy that is firm and starts right under your bust? That's me. 😢

I have beautiful luggage that is white, light-weight, hard-shelled, with camel-colored edging; the pieces are reminiscent of elegant luggage from the 1920-1930s. I always receive compliments on the pieces when travelling. I refuse to go natural regarding my hair: having naturally frizzy, kinky, wild hair is not flattering. I straighten the kinks and frizz out of it at the hotel and use a sealant that helps it to remain straight/non-frizzy in humid climates. As for the hotel's blower dryers, they are frequently not strong enough to straighten my hair; it requires a lot of oomph! So, it is never a problem to bring a blower dryer in my suitcase; I have been all over the world with it. I agree with you about outfits to wear when travelling. I frequently wear a white Oxford white, cotton shirt tucked into a long, black pencil skirt or pants. I am treated better by airport/airline personnel when I am dressed in an elegant manner. Trench coats are dicey for we plus-size ladies: I am both short (5'3) and busty (a DD) so the double-breasted trench is a no-no: it makes me look short and squat. I have one, but it only works with high heels.

Thank you, but with few exceptions. Wide leg pants for 5' 4" do not look good unless very soft jersey material is used. If i get taylored pants that fit around my waist, they would be 2 sizes too big for hips and legs, thus petite size that fits hips, elastic to get around the waist. Great recommendations on need of quality materials. Looking forward to more videos, i watch them all.😅

The black sleeveless dress that “shows off your shoulders” does not work for many plus sized women because their upper arms are flabby. I wish there were more dresses that cover or camouflage the upper arms.
